Humans of Kingston: Zsófi Mayer

“I moved from Budapest to London to study art direction or curation at Kingston University. There are various reasons for this, amongst them the following. They do not offer my course at home, nor is the education system good. Additionally, the government is in full control over everything that is released in the media. You cannot be critical to anything tied to politics, which in my opinion goes against what art is. To express one’s self fully and utterly without a filter. Since moving here, I have been able to study what I want, and I am loving it. With that said, despite the love I have for this city, I am constantly homesick. Not for Budapest, I am homesick for my loved ones. Maybe it will get better, maybe it will not. We will have to see… “
